dear CAKE,

i have been waiting for you to return to my city for the last 4 years. i dutifully check the tour page of your website every day, in hopes that my city has been added to the itinerary. in my heart of hearts i never expected the page to change, but a fool in love can't give up hope. imagine my joy when, today, i saw that my favorite band had finally decided to grace us with their presence after a melancholy 4 years of waiting! were my eyes playing tricks on me? NO! FINALLY! the years of persistence and patience are paying off. all my hopes and dreams were about to be realized!! alas, you can probably also imagine the pain that shot through my heart when I remembered that the day of the concert is the exact day that I move to switzerland for the year. oh, the despair! oh, the anguish! how can i get on that plane, knowing that my only true source of happiness will play a show without me? how can i head to the land of cowbells and yodeling and leave behind the sweet harmonies of vince's trumpet mingled with the monotonous irony of john's voice? i can't. so my question to you is this: what will it take to convince you to stop by my town just one day earlier and do one more show so that I can leave u.s. soil with no regrets and start my swiss adventure out right? i am desperate. thank you. hope to see you soon.
